Jana Schmutz, LMHC

Jana Schmutz is a licensed mental health counselor and child mental health specialist. She received her master of arts degree in marriage, family and couples counseling from George Fox University.

Jana has worked extensively with adolescents, in the university setting, and as a student counselor for middle and high school students. Jana’s experience in community mental health focused primarily on treating

traumatic stress in children and adolescents, and helping their families communicate together in ways that help create greater emotional security and deepen the parent-child relationship.
 

Jana enjoys meeting with adult clients, as well, working toward greater emotional agility as they face issues such as depression, anxiety, loss, trauma and relational difficulties.
 

She is passionate about helping individuals process difficult life experiences and find their own inner resources, self-compassion, and kindness, in order to facilitate healing and enhance their capacity to effectively engage in their present lives.
