Ernie Hensley MA, LMHC
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington and a National Certified Counselor, offering individual therapy for adults in person through Northwest Psychological Resources in Longview.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in practical strategies to help you move forward with clarity, strength, and resilience.
Before becoming a counselor, I spent over 45 years in leadership roles in business, finance, information systems, and community development. That experience, combined with years of mentoring and pastoral care in my church and community, shaped how I show up in the therapy room — steady, compassionate, and fully present.
I completed my MA in Counseling at Western Seminary in Portland and hold advanced training as an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™. I regularly integrate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) into therapy to help
people heal from trauma, distressing memories, and overwhelming life events. Depending on your needs, I also draw from Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and solution-focused approaches.
If requested, I’m happy to incorporate spiritual themes or faith-based perspectives into our work.
I primarily serve individual adults (ages 18 and older), and I focus on helping clients find relief from anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions.
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you — it’s about helping you uncover your own strength, clarify your values, and develop the tools to live with greater confidence and peace.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready to work through something painful, you don’t have to go it alone. I’d be honored to walk with you.
