Wendy J Biss Ph.D.
After graduating from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg,
Virginia with a M.A. in Psychology, Dr. Wendy Biss received her Ph.D. in
Counseling Psychology from The University of Memphis in 2006. Dr. Biss
has completed a wide range of clinical and assessment experiences,
including conducting career and psychological evaluations for state
referred clients, working in community mental health with survivors and
perpetrators of relationship violence, managing clients in acute
inpatient hospitalization, and working within several college counseling
centers. Dr. Biss has also provided supervision to graduate level
counselors and taught undergraduates.
Dr. Biss provides individual therapy, group counseling, and assessment to adults and adolescents as well as couples counseling with adults. Her areas of specialty include: Gay affirming and knowledgeable therapy, survivors of trauma and abuse, reducing self injury, young adults, career and disability related issues, and reducing anxiety, depression, and stress. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and active in Divisions 35 and 44 of APA.
Dr. Biss offers services on a sliding scale to individuals and families who are experiencing financial difficulty. Her sliding scale rates are based on household income and number of family members and can be viewed in Microsoft Word format here or as a PDF.
